That’s anything from the time of day of posts, to the copy or photo used, to the right match between the audience and the product being promoted. Overall, I’d say that the more “sales-y” or clearly “sponsored” a post is, the less results it gets. Usually, the best results come when the person promoting actually loves the product and the audience feels that the promotion is organic and brings them value.
